Research Accomplishments & Interests
John Spieth, Ph.D., joined the Washington University Center in 1995 and is currently an Associate Research Professor in Genetics. Before coming to St. Louis, Dr. Spieth was an Associate Research Professor in the Biology Department, at Indiana University, where worked on RNA processing and splicing in Caenorhabditis elegans.

While at Washington University, Dr. Spieth research interests have been first-pass analysis of genomes sequenced at the Genome Center, including several microbes, invertebrates and the human genome. He is co-PI and a founder of WormBase, a comprehensive database for the model organism, C. elegans.
